Updated Safeguarding Children Procedures
The Wakefield & District Safeguarding Children Board along with Kirklees, Calderdale and Leeds have formed a West Yorkshire Consortium and joined forces with Tri-X to produce the West Yorkshire Inter-agency Safeguarding Children procedures.  The procedures include all the updates from the new Working Together to Support Children (HM Gov 2006) and are in a computerised format for ease of use.

These new procedures will be implemented on 2nd July 2007, and all other paper copies should be destroyed and not used from this date.  To access the new computerised procedures go to  http://www.wakefield.gov.uk/lscb.

National Childminding Week
The Wakefield District Childminding Association is holding a celebratory event during National Childminding Week at Lightwaves Leisure Centre on Thursday 21st June between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Everyone welcome, so bring a packed lunch and come and join the fun and meet new friends.  During the day there will be free children's activities, free goodie bags, free refreshments, music and songs, treasure baskets, and information on different activities.
